DOWNTOWN CAMBRIDGE MAIN STREET RECONSTRUCTION
Union Gas utility upgrades are required to be completed in advance of the City's project. Proposed utility relocations are planned from 72 - 151 Main Street including Mill Street and a portion of Lutz Street.
Aecon, a Union Gas contractor, is scheduled to begin utility relocations on April 1, 2019, and is expected to take approximately 6-weeks to complete.
The City's contract is expected to be awarded the Main Street Reconstruction & Streetscaping Project on April 22nd, 2019.
Brief timeline of the four (4) phases for the project:
April 1, 2019 - Union Gas/Aecon to begin utility relocations
May 10th, 2019 - Union Gas/Aecon to complete utility relocations (approximate)
May 13, 2019 - Contractor retained by the City of Cambridge to begin Main Street Reconstruction and Streetscaping project. (approximate)
End of September 2019 - Main Street Reconstruction and Streetscaping complete

Phase 1A - Main Street from Ainslie St. North to Wellington St. South (Union Gas Work)
Phase 1B - Main Street from Ainslie St. North to Wellington St. South (City's Contractor)
Phase 2 - Intersection of Main Street and Wellington St. South (City's Contractor)
Phase 3 - Wellington St. South to Shade Street (City's Contractor)
