Serving on the Board is an opportunity to help guide the future of our business area by providing leadership, supporting local initiatives and helping shape priorities that benefit businesses, property owners and the broader community. Board members play an important role in:
Providing strategic direction for the BIA
Supporting local business growth and vitality
Enhancing the area's attractiveness and economic development
Overseeing programs, events and initiatives
Representing the interests of BIA members

There are 8 Board positions available for the 2026-2030 term.
A diverse Board helps ensure different business perspectives and experiences are reflected in decision-making. To be eligible for nomination, a person must be:
an assessed owner of rateable property within the BIA, or
a tenant responsible for paying all or part of the property taxes, or
a nominee of an eligible property owner or tenant, or
a member of Council.
Important dates:
Nominations open: August 14 at at 8:30 a.m.
Nominations close: Friday, September 4 at 4:30 p.m.
Election date: September 16, 6-8pm in the Bowman Room (Main Floor) at City Hall, 50 Dickson Street.
